Background
The National Drug Service Organization operates as the central medical stores for the Ministry of Health. Their mandate is to procure, store and distribute the Health Sector Goods in line the Health Facilities indicated above. Legally NDSO was established as a trading account through a legal notice “Supplement No.4 to Gazette No.19 of 2nd March, 2007.
The Organization has seven functional departments. These are Human Resource and Administration, Finance, Procurement, Logistics, Quality Assurance, Information Technology and Customer Service. Each of these departments is headed by a Senior Manager who is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the department towards organisational objectives.
The organisation also has Assistant Managers who are responsible for specific functions within the departments. The General Manager is the Chief Executive of the Organization. This has been fully shown on the organisational chart of the organisation. In this plan, each of the departments will be referred to as the thematic areas because they will have a unified goal and strategic objectives that will ultimately converge into one major goal and objectives of the entire Organization.
